English
These six new songs were born from the landscapes I saw in Quebec, Canada, the sounds I heard, the scents drifting through streets and cafés, the air after rain, and the people I met. I turned what I experienced through all five senses into lyrics. The lyrics are by Yuriko Yuco Yoshikawa, with music produced together with Tetsuo Taniguchi.
1. Dawn over the Saint Lawrence River — Chanson
At four in the morning in Montréal, I walked alone through a city falling asleep. Café lights, the church clock tower, and the sound of “Bonjour” in French led me toward the Saint Lawrence River. The moment when the sun rises over the water at the end of a long night became a chanson filled with the atmosphere of French-speaking Quebec.
2. Dancing All Night — A Tribute to Bob Marley — Reggae
Quebec on a rainy night: reggae playing in a taxi, a Caribbean driver, tail lights and street lamps swaying along the streets. Even the church weather vane seemed to be dancing. I set this night to the rhythm of un, deux, trois, quatre, with respect for Bob Marley, creating a song for everyone to dance together.
3. Quebec Moonlight — Bossa Nova
At five in the morning, Quebec was still asleep. Cobblestones, street lamps, thin clouds, and the distant sound of cars surrounded my walk. I followed a road like a red carpet, accompanied only by the sound of my footsteps. This quiet time became a bossa nova with the lingering glow of moonlight.
4. Blue Hour in Quebec — Samba
The blue hour begins like opening a window, moving from a world without sound into a world of sound. A bear sculpture, Julian smiling on a bench and saying that he liked GODZILLA, and a seagull coming close while we waited for sunrise all became part of the scene. The laughter born in a Quebec morning is carried by a samba rhythm.
5. The Lost Traveler in a Quebec Morning — Blues
At 5:30 in the morning, I left the hotel to watch the sunrise and met EMIDIO, a Brazilian traveler who had been lost in the quiet city for three hours. His phone battery had died, and he was crying. I said “Bonjour,” helped him charge his phone at the hotel, and we finally shared a smile. This journey from loneliness to hope became a heartfelt blues song.
6. Hallelujah — A Rainbow-Colored Path Above the Clouds — Hymn
I wrote this song above the clouds on the airplane returning from Canada to Japan. Looking out at the thin clouds, the sunlight, and a path that seemed to shine in seven colors, I imagined angels waiting beyond it and the wish to receive wings and fly. Carrying the memory of my time in Quebec, this hymn expresses the hope I felt in the sky on the journey home.

1. セントローレンス川の夜明け / Dawn over the Saint Lawrence River — シャンソン
2. Dancing All Night — A Tribute to Bob Marley —
3. Quebec Moonlight —
4. Blue Hour in Quebec —
5. Quebec朝の迷い人 / The Lost Traveler in a Quebec Morning — ブルース
6. ハレルヤ 雲の上の虹色の道 / Hallelujah — A Rainbow-Colored Path Above the Clouds — 讃美歌
